Cool-To-Cook Guide: Scheduled vs. Non-Scheduled Functions

One of the most powerful features of Suvie is its unique cool-to-cook functionality providing the ultimate convenience for mealtime. Simply load your ingredients into your appliance either the evening prior, or in the morning, and schedule the time you’d like it to finish cooking.

Which Modes Can Be Scheduled and Start Cooking Automatically?

The ability to schedule your meal in advance is limited to the following functions:

  • Sous Vide
  • Slow Cook
  • Steam
  • Reheat
  • Egg Mode
  • Proof

These functions use only water to indirectly refrigerate and cook your meal, and do not use the broilers.

You can schedule your meal to be cooked up to 24 hours in advance. Once scheduled, Suvie will keep your ingredients refrigerated and automatically switch over to cooking to finish each ingredient at the same time that you have selected. Once Suvie has finished cooking your meal, you will be presented with the option to finish your meal by broiling it for added flavor and visual appeal. This last broil step does require your presence to initiate.

Which Modes Can ONLY Refrigerate and Require Push-Button Start to Begin Cooking?

Suvie uses a powerful quartz broiler which requires push-button start for the following functions:

  • Roast
  • Bake
  • Broil
  • Suvie Rapid Cook Suvie Meals

Due to these high temperatures, and for your safety, you must be present during these phases of cooking.

When using these functions, Suvie can still refrigerate your meal, however, you must manually start the cooking process by clicking the start button on the display. Because of this requirement, you cannot schedule meals to begin cooking automatically. Suvie does offer you the convenience of allowing you to load your ingredients ahead of time and keeping them refrigerated until you arrive home.
